Changes to Fellowship Review Process Approved

LRAC Board Explains New Review Criteria and Encourages Artists to Apply

At the February 2022 Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) Board Meeting, the LRAC Board approved changes to the existing annual LRAC $5,000 Fellowship review process. These changes are in response to feedback from applicants and grant reviewers and are meant to provide a more equitable experience across different artistic disciplines. LRAC wishes to thank our previous applicants for their suggestions.

Updated Review Process for Fellowship Applicants

The changes apply to the review criteria and process that the Board uses to review the Fellowship applications. Beginning with the Fellowship review on June 21, 2022, the Board will now rank applications individually based on the following criteria:

2021 Fellowship Award Winner, Bethany Lacktorin

· Artistic Skills

· Artistic Creativity

· Artistic Originality

· Work samples

· Artistic Commitment

This format is in line with how the LRAC Board reviews and ranks grants in every other program we offer and provides an additional measure of uniformity in the process.

Submissions for LRAC Artist Fellowships are Open!
