Organizational Grants
LRAC offers the following grants for organizations located in the LRAC region. This includes nonprofit organizations and public entities, such as k-12 schools, community education, colleges, universities, libraries, museums, townships, cities, and counties. Each grant program has its own guidelines, as well as applicant and project eligibility criteria. Please click the links for resources to help you complete each grant.

Project Grants
The Project Grant provides up to $3,000 for activities directly involved in the creation, performance and/or exhibition of an artistic project. A 20% match from the applicant organization is required. The Project Grant is open to all artistic disciplines, art, dance, literary, musical performance, etc.
Legacy Organization Grants
The Legacy Organization Grant provides up to $12,500 to increase Arts Access, Arts Learning and Arts and Cultural Heritage opportunities for all Minnesotans. This grant is open to Arts Organizations (nonprofit), nonprofits with project that have Arts as the primary focus, local governments, and educational institutions in the LRAC nine-county region.

Operating Support Grants
The Lake Region Arts Council provides operating support on a two-year grant cycle to qualifying arts organizations in the nine counties of the region. Funding amount varies. The purpose of these operating support grants is to strengthen and stabilize arts organizations. The next round of Operating Support applications will be accepted in January, 2024.
Artists on Main Street Grant
The Lake Region Arts Council and West Central Initiative partner on a yearly basis to offer an exciting opportunity for west central Minnesota communities of 5,000 people or fewer to participate in the Artists on Main Street program. A community and economic development program led by Springboard for the Arts and Rethos: Places Reimagined, the program’s purpose is to support rural community development at the intersection of arts and culture, downtown revitalization, and historic preservation. The application for this program is administered by West Central Initiative.
