Artists Collaboration Installation

Two regional artists, Dar Eckert and Kristi Kuder, used their vision and talents to transform the LRAC Gallery space into a unique visual experience. Their fresh perspective uses the space, lighting, and street presence of the Gallery in a new way. We hope you will enjoy visiting the Gallery and seeing the efforts of the collaborating artists.

6A High School Art Competition Exhibition
Reception Saturday, April 27, 2024 10:30-12pm
Lake Region Arts Council exhibited artwork from this year's High School 6A Minnesota State Visual Arts Exhibition and Competition. This yearly competition showcases the best artwork from high school students throughout the state. Students’ entries are judged on the quality of the artwork and the student's artist statement. Regional winners go on to compete at the State 6A statewide competition.

LRAC Artists Cohort FY22 & FY23 Alumni Exhibition
The Lake Region Arts Council announces the opening of “LRAC Artists Cohort FY22 & FY23 Alumni Exhibition” Monday, May 6th, 2024 at the LRAC Main Gallery at the historic River Inn, 133 S. Mill St., Fergus Falls, MN. The Public Reception will be held on Tuesday, May 21st , 5:30- 7PM, and you are encouraged to come and enjoy visiting with the artists and viewing their work. The exhibition will close on Wednesday, June 26 th , 2024.
LRAC Executive Director, Maxine Adams explains the exhibit by saying, “LRAC is celebrating the 7th Anniversary of the Artist Cohort Program. Since 2017, over 35 talented artists have participated in the program. Each Cohort spent 10 months working on their career development goals. We invite the public to visit the LRAC Cohort Alumni Exhibit and enjoy a diversity of artistic styles and disciplines.”
The exhibiting Cohort Alumni artists are: Amanda Strauss of Fargo, ND, Annette Marchand of Moorhead, MN, Anna Lassonde of Detroit Lakes, MN, Courtney Werk of Donnelly, MN, Brian Christensen of Fergus Falls, MN, Jessica Hexum of Fergus Falls, MN and Vicky Radel of Norcross, MN.

Guest Juror – DeborahMae Broad

The Guest Juror Exhibit is always very popular with regional artists and gallery guests. The exhibition features the very best work from our regional artists and is a must see for our Gallery visitors. Our guest juror this year is Deborahmae Broad. Deborahmae taught Printmaking, Drawing and Bronze casting at Minnesota State University Moorhead (then Moorhead State University) from 1982 until 2003 when she retired to be a full-time artist.
Deborahmae Broad chose 30 artists living in the LRAC 9 county region. The artists featured in the exhibition are Annette Richter, Barbara Benda, Cameron Peterson, Candy Skauge, Carmen Bruhn, Debbi Anderson, Dennis Krull, Dwight Mickleson, Emma Tomb, Faythe Mills, Gin Templeton, Helena Johnson, Holly Diestler, Jamil Rachid, Jodi Peterson, John Beaudine, John Magnuson, Katy Olson, Kevin Zepper, Laura Youngbird, Les Skoropat, Lyssa Lovejoy, Maggie Peterson, Mary Jo Wentz, Mike Weatherly, Phyllis Joos, Ruth Hanson, Samantha Johnson-Purdie, Tricia Coulson and Vicky Radel.
Surreal Visions

Lake Region Arts Council is pleased to host a multi-artist exhibition titled "Surreal Visions". One definition of Surrealism includes art that “balances a rational vision of life with one that asserts the power of the unconscious and dreams.”
We asked artists to stretch their imaginations and creative techniques. They responded with an exciting variety of styles and mediums. This juried exhibition has something for everyone. The exhibition runs October 7th to December 17th, 2024.

This year Lake Region Arts Council’s Gallery Board Committee chose 17 artists living in the LRAC 9 county region. The artists featured in the exhibition are the following; Olivia Hoppe, Tim Cassidy, Jacqueline Henning, Mary Williams, Maggie Peterson, Brad Wegscheid, Kevin Zepper, Laura VonBank, Kimberly Boe, Rebecca Kruger, Samantha Johnson Purdie, Emma Tomb, Penny Kagigebi, Desiree Logan, Anna Lassonde, James Hopkins and Blayze Buseth.
