Calvin deRuyter is a Midwestern artist who for many years was considered a Landscape Colorist. His current work is primarily non-objective abstract. You can see his extensive vitae on his website, and he has taught innumerable workshops and classes. He has also juried several art exhibitions. His current focus is primarily on abstract concepts in the visual art of mixed watermedia. Calvin's studio in Evansville MN is open by appointment during the months of May-Oct., and he spends winter months in Apache Junction AZ.

Calvin is a Signature Member of the Red River Watercolor Society and a Signature Member of NorthStar Watermedia Society. He also has memberships in Northern AZ Watercolor Society, Minnesota Artist Association, Hopkins Center for the Arts, White Bear Center for the Arts, Art of the Lakes, Evansville Arts Coalition, and the Alexandria Arts Alliance.
