Arts Resource Experts
LRAC Arts Resource Experts is a pilot project created by Lake Region Arts Council
It is focused on connecting individual artists to metro-based arts organizations that can help further their careers.
Jess Torgerson has received extensive training at several Minneapolis-St. Paul based Partner Organizations, and make their knowledge and connections available to artists an Artist Cohort (of all artistic disciplines) from throughout Lake Region Arts Council’s service area, working one-on-one and in small groups over a period of several months. This project connects artists with relevant workshops, grants, and fellowship opportunities. Artists may also benefit with help with improving work samples, personal publicity, networking, and connecting with Springboard for the Arts in Fergus Falls.
All artists - whether members of this year's Artist Cohort, or not - are encouraged to “like” and follow the Arts Resource Experts on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/LRAC.RESOURCES/. This page is constantly updated with news and program opportunities specifically relevant for individuals, from our Partner Organizations, and many more.
Our Partner Organizations include:
The Jerome Foundation, created by artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill (1905-1972), seeks to contribute to a dynamic and evolving culture by supporting the creation, development, and production of new works by early career/emerging artists.
The Foundation makes grants to early career artists and those nonprofit arts organizations that serve them in the state of Minnesota and the five boroughs of New York City.
The Minnesota State Arts Board is a state agency that stimulates and encourages the creation, performance, and appreciation of the arts in the state.
The Minnesota Music Coalition is a statewide network for independent musicians who care about creating and sustaining a vibrant popular music community. Through education, communication, and advocacy, we create access to resources and professional development services.
Mn Artists is home to art, writing, opportunities and conversation, online and off, by, for and about Midwestern artists working in every discipline. A program of the Walker Art Center, Mn Artists is dedicated to improving the quality and national visibility of regionally-rooted art, artists and cultural dialogue through a dynamic online community, responsive arts journalism, and by giving artists access to, and connections with, collaborators, influencers and the public.
Springboard for the Arts is an economic and community development organization for artists and by artists. Our work is about building stronger communities, neighborhoods, and economies, and we believe that artists are an important leverage point in that work. Springboard for the Arts’ mission is to cultivate vibrant communities by connecting artists with the skills, information, and services they need to make a living and a life.
